Possibly one of my favorite Bobby Womack songs. Bobby Womack is a true down, dirty gritty soul singer. He was a protege of the great late Soul King Sam Cooke. Bobby shocked the R&B world when he married Sam Cooke's widow a few months after Sam died. Remember Bobby did sing "I Wish He Didn't Trust Me So Much". Bobby def. lives the life he sings about.
Here on this live version of "Harry Hippie" he let's "Mary Hippie" (Altrinna Grayson) sings a bit of the song and she tears a new ass into the song.
Harry Hippie is loosely based on Bobby Womacks late brother Harry. I think we all know a couple of Harry's in our own lives. That brotha or sista that is so care free that it appears they don't give a flying f*ck. The only Soul I know...telling a story.
