Morning Cup of Soul - Nina Simone - Young Gifted & Black and Revolution

I've been listening to the late High Priestess of Soul all morning long. Actually from the very late to the early morning getting back in touch with the music of Nina Simone. Her voice is so raw with emotion and she's an amazing pianist. She merges so many genres of music especially on the piano. I've heard Jazz, Classical and even Ragtime in the piano styling of Dr. Nina Simone.

There is currently a new biography about Dr. Nina Simone: "Princess Noire: The Tumultuous Reign of Nina Simone" by Nadine Cohodas

Here is Dr. Nina Simone playing "Young Gifted and Black" (Both Aretha Franklin and Donny Hathaway covered this) & "Revolution" at the Harlem Festival in 1969. For more information about Nina Simone please visit her wonderful website.
