According to gossip columnist Roger Friedman formerly of Fox News, Aretha Franklin new album will be out May of this year. Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love the often delayed independent album from The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin will be avaliable through Walmart. It was previously reported that Miss Franklin would make go through HSN. I think this is even better!
This will mark Aretha's first album on her own label Areta's Records and her first album since 2003's "So Damn Happy" on Arista. The album was produced by Aretha Franklin, Bebe Winans and Gordon Chambers. Aretha wrote two songs and it includes a duet with Karen Clark-Sheards of the legendary Gospel group The Clark Sisters. Which I'm sure will be a vocal showdown with so many Gospel runs and rifts that it will put every singer on American Idol's stage sit down and take notice.
Roger Friedman also reports that Queen Aretha is still developing her life story "From These Roots" to a movie. If this movie ever do take form I'm expecting Aretha's friend Billy D. Williams in the role as her father. From some of my sources I heard Karen Clark-Sheard might be stepping into the role of Aretha! Now, that would be interesting!
Like always Stay Fresh!
