Aretha Franklin Released From the Hospital Just in Time For Christmas

I'm happy to report that the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin has been released from the hospital after a "successful surgery". I'm sure she and her family are happy as well that she will be home for the holidays.

The Queen released this statement:

My family and friends who brought me home are taking great care of me. I also have a private nurse who visits on a daily basis. I’m hoping to be strong enough to go out and see the upcoming Sam Cooke play at the Music Hall in downtown Detroit before January 2, as well as a performance of ‘Dreamgirls’ at the Fox before it closes.”
Jet Magazine recently posted an exclusive interview with Aretha. She goes on in the interview to thank many of the people that have wished her well and prayed for her. She didn't want to miss anyone but went on to name: Stevie Wonder, Oprah Winfrey, Tavis Smiley, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Patti LaBelle, Dionne Warwick, Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy, Condoleezza Rice, Shirley Caesar, Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Aretha will continue be in our thoughts and prayers here at The Fresh Music Page
