Morning Cup of Soul: Patti Labelle & The Bluebells
Take a listen to this nice Soul record by Patti Labelle & The Bluebells
. This is way before Patti Labelle begun to come into her own in the group Labelle
and eons away from the legend she is now. If you notice The Bluebells sounding like The Impressions
that's because this was written by Curtis Mayfield
of the Impressions.
"Trustin' In You
" isn't one of their best but it's something different. Northern Soul, Patti Labelle, and Chicago Soul lovers will love this! The horn section has Chicago written all over it. The only thing Philly about this album is the singer but the arrangement of their voices is like the female version of The Impressions.
