I can’t tell you how many times I get asked why I stopped writing on this blog. I don’t think I realized how many people actually read my little spot on the web. I’ve been busy, recently got out the hospital (Pneumonia), and basically living life in general. Well those are the excuses that I gave. Which I’m happy no one has actually called me out on those excuses because the truth is; I was living life when I was constantly posting new material daily.

The real reason why I haven’t blogged is because I have no been inspired. I don’t want to write about stale music anymore than you want to hear or read about it. Of course I can always write about the oldies but goodies but even I (an old school, dusty lover) want something new err “FRESH”. This is The Fresh Music Page, remember?

Many people thought they would get a review of the Aretha Franklin concert I attended but I never got around to it. Aretha Franklin first concert after her undisclosed surgery; A much smaller waistline and let me tell you the Queen was on fire. She sang all the hits but that still wasn’t enough to get me back in the groove of things. I guess you can say I was selfish with that. I didn’t want to share that moment.

I recently attended the Watch The Throne Concert with Kanye West and Jay Z. I have to say that’s the first concert I been to that I felt like I was at a huge house party. Kanye West in his hometown of Chicago, it doesn’t get much better! Yet I still did not write a review.

So, how did this post come about? Avery Sunshine! Just came back from a Mint Condition concert with Avery “Ugly Part of Me” Sunshine as the opening act. Oh Mint Condition was excellent but Avery Sunshine did it for me. She’s fresh, real and uber talented. She doesn’t sing but she sangs! She is a passionate, soulful, sultry, songstress. She has inspired me to post again! If you are able to catch her in concert, I recommend you go see her.
