Morning Cup of Soul: Aretha Franklin - Young Gifted & Black

Oh how I love Aretha Franklin. She is sho’ nuff the undisputed Queen of Soul! This cover of Nina Simone’s “Young Gifted & Black” gives me so much life.  The beginning of this song with Aretha on the piano and her voice erupting like a volcano really is something special. Those backing vocals that sounds like a church choir working the call and response like nobody’s business. This is soul!
